  • Total area: 223km2
  • Stream network length: 322km
  • Local Councils: Sunshine Coast Regional Council
  • Dominant land uses: native bush, grazing, rural residential, managed forests and urban areas
  • Lower estuarine reaches extensively modified for urban development and canal estates
  • Ewen Maddock Dam drains into the Mooloolah River
  • Riparian vegetation in the upper catchment remains in good condition
Freshwater results
BMooloolah Catchment   
  • Streams generally in fair condition.
  • Substantial decline in Nutrient Cycling, particularly for autumn 2009 and slight decline in Ecosystem Processes resulting in the reduction in grade.
  • Slight improvements in both the Physical/Chemical and Fish indicators in comparison to last year.
Estuarine results
BMooloolah Estuary   
  • No change in grade.
  • Minor increases in nutrient levels throughout estuary.
